“Strangers and the crew must have fed him.”

Ancestor: Lawrence Keenan

Descendant: Robin H.

My great grandfather, Lawrence Keenan, and his parents fled Ireland during the Great Famine.

Onboard the ship, Lawrence's parents died, leaving him an orphan at age 9. He knew no one else on the ship.

Strangers and the crew must have fed him. When he arrived in New York, distant relatives came to fetch him.
