“What a journey for my 2nd great grandmother!!”

My great grandfather, John George Dalsing was born June 9, 1958, "six weeks out to sea from Germany" according to family story.

I cannot imagine his mother Mary Emma Lau Dalsing boarding the ship Shiller with her husband, when she was 7 months pregnant. Then giving birth onboard!

The new family of three arrived in Baltimore and set out immediately for Wisconsin. What a journey for my 2nd great grandmother!!

I do not have a photo of his mother Mary, but here is a photo of John George Dalsing and his wife Mary Anna Deitering, in their later years.
